The Safe Application of a New Lubricant Sealant,

Abstract

US-1 lubricant sealant is prepared which consists of an epoxy resin, a congealer (vat residue of hexamethylenediamine), and a filler. The epoxy resins have chemical stability, high adhesion, and anticorrosive and dielectric properties, but these resins and hexamethylenediamine are toxic. During cleaning and degreasing of the thread with solvents, the concentration of their vapors exceeds the permissible limits. (Author, modified-PL)
