Defects in Products during High-Speed Extrusion,

Abstract

Results are presented from analysis of deformation of defects with direct cold high speed extrusion. The reason for the appearance of tears during deformation is the great force of inertia. The appearance of 'necks' at the ends of products results from movement of the elastic compression impulse through the blank.
