Charge Transfer Cross Sections of the Alkali Metals.

Abstract

Measurements were made of total charge transfer cross sections and cross sections for transfer to specific excited states over an approximate range from 0,5 to 25 keV. The measurements involved most combinations of alkali metals. The experimental methods are described briefly including the apparatus developed, but not yet used, to measure differential cross sections. The experimental results are briefly summarized with references of publications included for each. Example cross section determinations are given of the experimental determinations. The impact of these measurements upon theoretical work at other laboratories is discussed. (Author)
