Research in Combinatorial Optimization.

Abstract

The report covers the first year of a research project in combinatorial optimization and systems applications. Significant progress in the development and application of efficient matroid optimization algorithms and in the development of theory for the realizability of networks with specified node degrees and factors is discussed and the direction of future research is indicated.
