Abstract
The paper provides a readable introduction to the assembly language of the UNIVAC 1108. It is intended as a teaching tool rather than as a reference manual, although it may be used for reference. Topics covered include the 1108 instruction repertoire, assembler directives, macro-instructions (procedures), and an introduction to Exec 8 programming (including common input/output requests).
