Simulation of Gyroresonant Electron-Whistler Interactions in the Outer Radiation Belts.

Abstract

The authors present results on computer simulation of whistler turbulence and velocity space diffusion in a magnetospheric-type plasma. This is an extension of previous work, where, here, the authors have raised the ratio of plasma frequency to cyclotron frequency and lengthened the system size. This has been done in order to bring the parameters more into the physical regime corresponding to the outer radiation belts. (Author)
