Impact of the Lubbock Storm on Regional Systems.

Abstract

Four major factors contributed to a study of the impact of disaster on regional systems: the relative isolation of the Lubbock economic region, the location of the city of Lubbock at the center of a vast commodity distribution network, the depth and diversification of the Lubbock economy, and the severity of the storm which struck the city on May 11, 1970. Conclusions developed from the investigation will be of interest to local civil defense directors and to civil defense operations personnel. (Author)
