Process for the Production of a Wire Drawing Lubricant on the Basis of Calcium Stearate Calcium Hydroxide,

Abstract

A nonseparating wire drawing lubricant was prepared from calcium stearate-calcium hydroxide. Thus, free calcium hydroxide was mixed with calcium stearate in amounts 35-55%. A mixture of a small amount of Di or polyglycerol and fatty acid was added to the main amount of fatty acid in a heated mixer, the calcium hydroxide supplied at 100 degrees, and the mixture agitated intensively until homogeneous solid lumps formed.
