A Study of the Radioprotective Action of a Polymer Salt of Cystamine and Sulphorpropyl Ester of Dextran,

Abstract

The addition of cystamine to a sulphopropyl ester of dextran considerably increases the radioprotective effectiveness of small doses of cystamine administered 10-15 minutes prior to irradiation. The systamine-dextran complex has a longer period of effectiveness than cystamine dihydrochloride, and it can therefore be administered 1 hour before irradiation. (Author)
