Water Pollution Survey - McChord AFB, Washington.

Abstract

The industrial waste activities at McChord AFB, Washington presently discharge wastewater to Clover Creek and to ground water with little or no treatment. An industrial waste and stream sampling survey was conducted at McChord AFB to determine the magnitude of the pollution problems and to recommend abatement measures. It was determined that the quality of water in Clover Creek was impaired by discharges of floating oils, solvents and fuels from the industrial waste sources and ramp activities. To abate pollution from McChord AFB, recommendations have been made for each industrial waste source--mainly discharge to the sanitary sewer system after oil separation. (Author)
