Ceramic Materials for High Temperature Gas Bearings.

Abstract

Hot pressed Si3N4 has been evaluated for application as a high temperature gas bearing material. The results of two types of thrust washer tests, a continuous run and start-stop test, in terms of coefficient of friction, and mode of wear are reported. (Author)
