Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the impact of containerization on the airlift system. The report also provides background information on container construction and usage by other modes of transport. The container is examined in relation to meeting, and being moved within, the framework of current air transportability requirements. Concepts are also provided to develop techniques for efficient container movement in the near term and future.
