The User Requirements for an Airfield Pavement System

Abstract

The evolution of a systems approach to the design and evaluation of airfield pavements necessitated the establishment of a set (or sets) of quantified user requirements, which could be used to define the critical parameters of the pavement-aircraft-airfield pavements systems, but also generated a hierarchy of users, and delineated the respective needs of the primary users.
