Lubricant for the Thermal Processing of Metals,

Abstract

The lubricant is prepared by mixing together metal oxides and alkali metal ortho or condensed phosphates. Typical compositons comprise (in % mole): 34-49 p2O5, 34-49 alkali metal oxides, 0 to 25 Fe2O and 0-25 Al2O3 as long as Fe2O3+Al2O3 is smaller than 25. Typical lubricant comprises 78.71% wt KPO3 and 21.29% wt. Fe2O3, 41.67% mole P2o5, 41.67% moel K2O and 16.66 mole FeO3. (Author)
