Investigation of Radiation Processes in the Atmosphere (Issledovanie Radiatsionnykh Protsessov v Atmosfere).
Abstract
The report discusses angular distribution of outgoing shortwave radiation intensity in the event of continuous cloud cover, construction and operation of a laboratory set-up for measurement of radiation capacity of water in the centimeter range are discussed. The structure and operation of an airborne thermal surveyor and some results of its use for investigation of radiation from underlying surfaces, are discussed. Posibilities of using infrared technology in discovering forest fires from aircraft are disucssed. A comparison is made and discussed of measured and calculated values of outgroing longwave radiation for different seasons of the year. Methods and results of calculations of outgoing radiation in the 3-18 micrometer spectral range for certain regions of the Soviet Union are discussed. (Author)
