Transmission of Light Through a Randonly Scattering Medium.

Abstract

A theory of random shallow angle scattering is presented. The dispersion partial differential equation is derived and the dispersion coefficient is introduced. The equation is solved for a spatial impulse. The MOdulation Transfer Function and the constrast loss as a function of dispersion coefficient, spatial frequency and distance are derived. (Author)
