Effects of Strong Explosions. V. (Soviet Literature Translations)

Abstract

English-language abstracts prepared by Informatics, Inc., of about 45 Soviet technical writings on the effects of strong explosions, particular nuclear explosions, and their simulation under laboratory and field conditions. The articles abstracted appeared in 1971 and early 1972. The abstracts are arranged under these general headings: shock waves in gas; equations of state for gas; exploding wires; hypersonic flow past bodies; atmospheric physics; soil mechanics; laser simulation and related effects; particle beams; and electromagnetic field interaction with materials. The abstracts vary in length according to the pertinence and significance of the original papers. The usual glossary of journal abbreviations is included.
