Interactions of Energetic Neon with Emulsion Nuclei.

Abstract

Measurements of interactions of 280 MeV/nucleon neon nuclei from the Princeton Particle Accelerator with nuclei in emulsions are reported. It is found that the dominant mechanism for nucleus-nucleus interactions for incident neon energies as low as 100 MeV/nucleon is the production of charged and/or neutral pions. (Author)
