Curves Relating to Low Angle Propagation over the Sea.

Abstract

The curves presented are to assist in solving low angle radar problems and may also be used for one way transmission problems. They give the ratio in dB of the power after transmission to a range R km and back, over the sea, to the power after transmission over the same range (there and back) in free space. Each curve is for a specified radar antenna height, target height and operating wavelength. The principal operating wavelengths from 1.4 meters down to 0.0088 meters are covered. Target heights covered are 1, 3, 10, 30, 100 and 300 meters while antenna heights are 15, 20, 25, 30 meters or 10, 15, 20 meters depending on the waveband. (Author)
