Abstract

The pin-rod laser is compared with the flat electrode double discharge laser. A program for TEA laser mode and transition control is described. It is concluded that if pulse to pulse frequency stability (a few MHz) can be achieved, the CO2 TEA devices would be valuable in ranging, obstacle avoidance, and other pulsed radar applications.
