Carbon Deposits in Jet Engines,

Abstract

In the book the questions of the formation of carbon deposits and its influence on the reliability, efficiency, and service life of aviation jet engines are examined. Soviet and foreign materials about the properties of carbon deposits, conditions of their formation, and the influence of various factors on the formation of deposits are generalized. In the book there is comprehensive examination of the influence of fuels of various chemical and fractional composition and also the varying kinds of additives on the formation of deposits. Basic methods and means are stated for the evaluation of the deposit forming properties of aviation fuels and oils. (Author)
