System for Precision Ranging of Meteor Trails,
Abstract
The article discusses the problem of precision radar ranging of meteor trails and possible ranging techniques. It discusses in detail the system of circular scanning and of brightness indicators which give ranging with an accuracy of plus or minus 50m and are unique to meteor radar. The results of the experiment and the actual operation of the system are given. (Author)
