Detailed Design and Field Test Evaluation Programs for the Improved Tactical Packaging of 5.56mm Rifle Ammunition.

Abstract

This is the second report of a multi-phased research project devoted to the conceptualization and analysis of various methods of improving the tactical packaging of the small arms ammunition used by the U. S. Army. This report presents the detailed design drawings for the concepts selected by the military personnel for further development. The concepts have been taken to that point where a model or prototype maker could develop a limited production run, that would enable the military to competitively field test the desirability of the concept.
