The Influence of Zincdiamyldithiocarbamate on the Stability of Mineral Oil Inhibited with 2.6 Diterciarybutyl-P-Cresol,

Abstract

On the basis of theoretical considerations about the difference in mechanism of 2-6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol (DBPK) and zinc diamyldithiocarbamate (ZDATK) activities, the author investigates experimentally the mutual interaction of these oxidation inhibitors when used in various ratios within a stable mineral oil. Experiments show that they are compatible and that they exhibit, for certain concentrations, even a synergetic effect. He concludes that the combination of certain definite concentrations of these inhibitors may be used during the production of oil of turbine or hydraulic quality. (Author)
