Oxidation and Hot Corrosion of Ni-Cr- and Co-Cr-Base Alloys Containing Rare Earth Oxide Dispersions.

Abstract

The effects of dispersions of the oxides Y2O3, ThO2 and Al2O3 on the oxidation and hot corrosion of Ni-20% Cr-base alloys, and of dispersions of Y2O3 on the oxidation and hot corrosion of Co-Cr-base alloys have been studied. Up to 1100C, dispersions of Y2O3, ThO2, and possibly Al2O3 have very similar effects on the oxidation of Ni-20% Cr-base alloys. (Author)
