A Probabilistic Approach to Trajectory Sensitivity.

Abstract

Trajectory sensitivity is concerned with the investigation of the perturbations in trajectory of dynamical systems induced by small variations in initial conditions and parameters. Existing trajectory sensitivity methods of analysis and synthesis follow a deterministic approach. In cases of practical interest however, for instance in mass-produced control systems or in systems operating in a highly repetitive mode under variable conditions, a probabilistic approach is more appropriate to provide a comprehensive view of trajectory dispersion due to an a priori known distribution of initial conditions and plant parameters. Such a probabilistic approach is developed in this work. (Author)
