Dynamic Problems of Viscoplastic Media in a Temperature Field,

Abstract

The report is a study of the propagation of waves in an elastic-viscoplastic medium under temperature conditions. The basic mechanical-mathematical models of viscoplastic media are examined together with the changes in their mechanical properties and characteristics under the influence of the temperature field. The basic system of differential equations for the problem is given. The effect of various parameters is studied and conditions are obtained under which non-elastic waves can exist. Special attention is given to acceleration waves and the characteristic changes in their parameters are studied during the propagation process. Various initial and boundary value conditions which can occur are given. A suitable method for solving approximately the system of differential equations which formulate the problem in the three-dimensional case is given. Conditions on characteristic surfaces and bicharacteristic lines are given. Certain special cases of the general problem are examined. (Author)
