A Modification of the Gaussian Algorithm for Electronic Computers (Eine Modifikation des Gausschen Algorithms fuer Elektronische Rechenanlagen),

Abstract

The paper deals with an ALGOL procedure for a modified Gauss algorithm which is specially suited for use in geodetic computations. The symmetry of the system of normal equations and of the inverse are used in such a way that all matrices are combined into one array. In this way (N sup 2) storage places can be saved and furthermore an elegant formulation of the algrotihm is achieved. (Author)
