Studies in the Psychology of Decisions.

Abstract

The final report is made of a three year research program on the psychology of decisions. Research in three areas is described, subjective probability, response frequencies, and verbal reports were compared as to probability. In the second area of utilities, the equivalence of direct and indirect measurement methods was examined, social resource theory was studied and the theoretical foundations and practical uses of Sayeki's theory of importance allocation were explored. In the third area of decision criteria, the decision rules of children and cadets were studied, the role of expected value in job choice was demonstrated, and the concept of equivalence intervals was explored. A list of reports and publications is included.
