Theory of Plasma Instabilities. Volume I. Instabilities of Homogeneous Plasma,

Abstract

In the book the theory of plasma instabilities, one of the most important sections of the theory of plasma, is explained in a systematized manner. Detailed information concerning all basic types of plasma instabilities, beginning with beam instabilities and ending with plasma instabilities in a curved magnetic field, is given. The book consists of two volumes. In the first volume (Instabilities of Homogeneous Plasma), the author discusses instabilities caused by non-Maxwellian distribution of particles with respect to velocities, and in the second volume (Instabilities of Heterogeneous Plasma), he discusses the heterogeneity of the plasma and the magnetic field.
