Contact Interaction of Solid Bodies and Calculation of the Forces of Friction and Wear.

Abstract

The collection reports the most recent research of Soviet and foreign scientists in the field of friction. A historical review of the development of the science of friction is given. The mechanism by which the rubbing surfaces interact is described. Problems of adhesive-bond strength, molecular bonds, local contacts between elastic bodies, calculation of contact interaction, wear, and friction forces are considered, as are problems of lubrication.
