Residual Value: Its Utilization in Cost Analysis.

Abstract

As more and more emphasis is placed on cost analysis in DOD, the role of residual value as a costing tool is becoming more important. Examined here within a cost-effectiveness framework is the rationale for using the residual value technique, the circumstances prescribed for its use, and the various factors which influence its computation and application. Previous works considering the concept of residual value are used as input in the report and their various views are reviewed and explained. (Author)
