Survivability Analysis of Command and Control Systems.

Abstract

The Air Force Office of Scientific Research contracted with Network Analysis Corporation during the period 1 May 1972 to 1 November 1972 to conduct research on the survivability analysis of realistic command and control systems. The report summarizes the findings of the research project. During the first half of the project, effort was aimed at formulating meaningful survivability models and criteria, determining fundamental physical factors affecting survivability analysis and determining suitable approaches to the survivability problem. The second half of the study was aimed at the design and implementation of the probabilistic survivability analysis algorithm and at providing a practical demonstration of its use for a representative network problem. A description of the computer program developed and an example of its application are included in the report. (Author)
