Optimum Wiener Filters for Line-of-Sight Guided Weapon Systems.

Abstract

In the report Wiener filtering theory is applied weapon system with homing targets. Formulae are given from which one can calculate system transfer functions which minimize the miss distance subject to a given limit on the lateral acceleration demanded of the missile. Computer programs are described which calculate optimum linear seventh order filters when statistics of target motion and radar noise are given. (Author)
