Expandable Floating Bases Program: Model Test and Analysis

Abstract

The report covers research directed specifically toward examining and comparing the responses of similarly configured expandable and rigid bodies subject to wave action, investigation of hydrodynamic problems associated with closely spaced multiple floats in an array, and an assessment of cost of expandable structures in relation to certain design requirements for a floating base.
