Using Directed Differences in a Numerical Solution of the Short-Term Weather Forecast Problem,

Abstract

On the basis of full equations in hydrothermodynamics the author, using stable initial data, has formulated a finite difference model for short range weather forecasting using unidirectional time and space differences. The article discusses different methods for initial adaptation of the wind to a stipulated pressure field: geostrophic and gradient. The paper gives some results of predictions of the ground level pressure field. (Author)
