Method for Measuring the Velocity and Attenuation Factor of Ultrasonic Vibrations in Media,

Abstract

Improved accuracy of measurement in media with a high damping decrement is ensured by approximating the leading front of the signal with reference voltage frequency and amplitude variation. The circuit comprises a unit for excitation and detection of ultrasonic vibrations, frequency divided with a pulse transformer, sinusoidal oscillator, two beam oscillograph and frequency meter. The oscillator of the unit provides short pulses for triggering step and continuously variable delay lines of beam scan. (Author)
