Structure and Optical Properties of Thin Films of the HgTe-CdTe System,

Abstract

Optical absorption spectra of HgTe-CdTe thin films were measured at room temperature in the ultraviolet, infrared, and visible regions. It is shown that the fundamental absorption edge shifts toward the short-wavelength region of the spectrum with increasing tellurium content in the system. Films deposited on KCl and KBr substrates exhibited a textured transmission spectra for the films are illustrated. (Author)
