Estuarine Navigation Projects.
Abstract
The publication contains an assembly of available information on selected navigation projects in tidal waterways such as inlets (passes), bays, tidal rivers, and canals. Included in the material presented for each of the projects are descriptions of the waterway and the Federal project, data on the tides, freshwater discharges from upland sources, currents, salinity intrusions, shoaling, and the dredging required to maintain the channels. Specific problems are identified (where applicable) together with statements of the status of solutions of the problems. Available reference sources are listed for those who wish to obtain additional and more detailed information.
