A Variational Principle for Finite Deformations of Quasi-Shallow Shells.
Abstract
A variational principle is established for treating the finite deformation of quasi-shallow shells. The special case corresponding to Marguerre's shallow shell theory is discussed. An example of snap-through of shallow cylindrical panels clamped at one of its curved edges is analyzed by the variational principle given here. (Author)
