Investigation of a Proprietary Rapid-Setting Cementitious Material

Abstract

The purpose of the investigation was to make a preliminary evaluation of a proprietary, rapid-setting, cementitious material for possible use by the Corps of Engineers, especially in the repair of elements of construction in marine exposures. The investigation involved an evaluation of the basic properties of the material by petrographic and X-ray diffraction examination and chemical analysis. Physical tests for time of setting, compressive strength or cubes at 1 hr, 24 hr, 7 days, and 28 days, and for sulfate resistance were made.
