Laboratory Investigation of Rubber Waterstop Failures in Concrete Structures Caused by Differential Movements of Adjacent Monoliths.

Abstract

Recent failures of rubber waterstop have occurred in a floodwall in which the web of the waterstop has been ruptured by differential movement of adjacent concrete monoliths. The investigation described in the report was conducted to study the effects of various joint conditions on rubber waterstops and to develop joint treatment methods that would eliminate or minimize damage to the waterstop.
