A Limited Study of the Performance of the 2-Ton Meili Flex-Trac,

Abstract

The Meili Flex-Trac is a multipurpose cross-country vehicle equipped with six- and four-wheel drive, and articulated vertically at the wheel-base center. The hydraulically controlled articulation is operated by a control valve, and enables the vehicle to assume a sway-back position by raising the front or rear end higher than the center, or an arched-back position by raising the center wheels off the ground. The control valve also has a 'float' position which allows free articulation of all six wheels so that each can accommodate itself to the terrain with which it is in contact. Excerpts from the manufacturer's brochure describing the vehicle are included. (Author)
