Army Airfield Pavement Evaluation: Lawson Army Airfield, Fort Benning, Georgia

Abstract

The Lawson Army Airfield facilities consisted of three runways, two parking aprons for fixed-wing aircraft, a parking area for helicopters, and numerous connecting taxiways. The pavement types and thicknesses and approximate date of construction of the individual Lawson AAF pavement facilities are given. Physical properties of the pavement and foundation materials are listed.
