Radio and Optical Activity of the Peculiar Object BL Lac (VRO 42.22.01) and 3.3-mm Observations of Cygnus X-3.

Abstract

In late 1971, BL Lac underwent an isolated optical flare of a type previously observed in optically violent (OVV) quasars. Although this event was followed in 55 days by a similar radio flare, an examination of all available data indicates that the observations cannot be correlated by the assumption of a constant radio-optical delay. The 3-mm measurements of the giant radio outburst of Cygnus X-3 during early September 1972 are presented. (Author)
