Water Pollution Survey - Griffiss AFB, New York.

Abstract

Industrial waste activities at Griffiss AFB presently discharge waste water to Six Mile Creek and Three Mile Creek with minimal or no treatment. An industrial waste and stream sampling survey was conducted at Griffiss AFB to determine the magnitude of the pollution problem and to recommend abatement measures. It was determined that the quality of water in both creeks was impaired by the industrial waste discharges. To abate pollution from Griffiss AFB, recommendations have been made for each industrial waste source--mainly discharge to Rome, New York, sewage treatment plant through the base sanitary sewer system.
