IMPATT Diode Amplifier

Abstract

A high performance IMPATT diode test circuit was developed which is very effective in reducing spurious oscillations of the diode under test by controlling the impedance presented to the diode by the circuit. In this circuit, a 10 GHz silicon diode was tested as an amplifier with power gains in excess of 20 db.
