Quality Control and Analysis of Error in the Naval Manpower Data Base.

Abstract

The thesis develops a model which describes how errors enter and leave an operating data base for manpower management. The model describes the error input process and error distribution in the data base. The underlying structure for the model is the M/G/infinity queue. The model is used to determine the effect of a change in the input error rate on the number of errors in the data base. An upper limit is determined for this rate of increase, and a method of determining a minimum time between samples in the worst possible case is proposed. (Author)
