Typical Pitfalls of Effectiveness Analysis,
Abstract
The paper presents a list of pitfalls which the writer has encountered in effectiveness analyses. Some of these have arisen during actual analyses in such areas as aircraft armament systems, antiaircraft systems, sonar systems, large radars, and a complete business line of new-generation computers. Others have been found by theoretical consideration of the effectiveness-analysis process, such as investigating the implications of different objective functions. (Author)
