Air Force Depot Maintenance, Overseas Versus CONUS,

Abstract

The paper presents information on Air Force aircraft depot maintenance workloads and costs, overseas and CONUS, for fiscal years 1972 and 1973. All overseas workload was analyzed. For CONUS depot maintenance only the portion that is in direct support of overseas deployed aircraft was examined. The primary purpose of the study was to determine impacts on the CONUS contract depot maintenance industrial structure if redistributions were made between overseas and CONUS workloads. Cost data are provided to permit evaluation of financial impacts. Information on industrial capacities is also provided so the planner may assess potential workload absorption alternatives. (Author)
